I do not know if the company is still in business but some years ago there was a Mary Hoyer Doll Company in Pennsylvania. She made a beautiful doll and I have one dressed all fancy for Christmas. I had another that was sold, this was not dressed and there were instruction books published on knitting and crocheting outfits for her. Since I crocheted, I made some outfits for my doll.
This is a 1954 – 18″ hard plastic doll. This would be a wonderful doll to try your hand at drawing her some clothes. A nice size from top of hair to tip of toes she is 9 -6/8 ” when printed to fit page. Brenda does such wonderful work, I feel as if I could actual feel the glass eyes, and look at the lovely lace on the bottom of her slip.
I think I will color this one and put her in one of my Round Robins so she will have more clothes, she is just so lovely.
This came from the souvenir book from the Modern Doll Convention in 1992.
I remember this doll. A friend across the street had one This brings back a lot of good memories of long summer afternoons playing with our dolls. Wow. Thank you for those memories.
