First for Pam V and others Sandra Vanderpool who did the wonderful “Frog Princess” paper doll I posted a few nights back does have a catalog. It is $3.00 and is 24 pages with all her available work shown. Her address is: PO Box 695 – 625 Main Street, Erie, CO 80516 I purchased her Queen Elizabeth last year in Kansas that is another WOW set.
Next I have some odd pieces of dolls to use in my Round Robins to share.
The black and white lady doll is from the Art Instruction, Inc ad to draw a dress on me and try for a free $240.00 art course. The green floral and the pink and blue dresses were done by Carol Carey and the yellow dress was done by Marge Schaffer (me). I remember using plain yellow paper and cutting the trim from a paper plate ad in a magazine. Carols outfits are cut from paper also, so you see you do not need to know how to draw to make clothes for your paper dolls. It is called the cut and paste method. Carol is weeding out her collection and I took some of the old round robin items from her. The little girl with her back to us is from a magazine and dated 1922 on her back, the pink dress with the white pinafore was done by Sonja Barnes. The older girl feels like she came from a greeting card and the dress looks hand painted, but by whom is a mystery.
I have some more which I will post at another date. It is fun to find little items like these
