Saturday was the last full day of the convention. This is the day we entered our favorite items in the competition. I entered 4 items and each one won a ribbon. 2 first, 1 second and 1 third. The dress-a-doll exhibit was shown, wow such a wonderful selection of clothes that lady doll has now. They drew the raffle items, all but the top 10, those were drawn during the banquet in the evening. Then they had the free bee tables, I was tired so did not go. Went upstairs to take a nap, my roommate Marilyn joined me and we almost slept thru the banquet. This staying up late, getting up early was starting to get to me.
For our special entertainment we had an all girl barbershop group and they were terrific. I could have listened to them all evening. Our last enterpiece was a paper doll of a Spar (women in the Coast Guard).
I really like this formal.
Sunday was packing time to go home, breakfast and a lovely talk about the life of Bob Hope given my Marilyn Henry. Her talk was so fascinating I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you Marilyn, I know you spent a lot of time researching it.
Well next year we are back out on the West Coast in California over the Labor Day weekend for the paper doll convention.
