This printed so lightly I hope it will show up as it is a lovely paper doll done by Sue Shanahan.  I am about finished going through all the items I have pulled from magazines and gotten them organized.  I was putting articles together, as I had dropped a huge pile a while back and found a few paper dolls that were with the articles

Oh good it posted in good color.  All the costumes are lovely and I love the witches outfit. Also the butterfly/fairy outfit.

So happy I found this one to share with you all.

Well my 3 day holiday is about to come to an end and it will be back to work again in the morning.

Hope you all had a nice night and a good morning – it is noon where I am now.  On with the rest of Gene’s lovely costumes.  Please read the writing also, it tells the movie that Mel Odom based his doll on, very interesting.

Well, guess it happens to every one and every thing.  Gene the doll created by Mel Odom has retired – now this is probably no news to a lot of the doll collectors, but when you are as behind in reading your magazines, as I am, it is new to you.  She retired in June 2010.  This is one doll I have (actually have 2 dolls and some extra outfits) that is not being sold.  I had to have her when I first saw her and I still want to keep her.  This paper doll was in the Fall 2010 Dolls News Magazine.

There are 4 more pages of costumes which I will post tomorrow, I ordered Chinese for dinner, it has arrived and I am hungry.  It is 10:18 p.m. a little pass my dinner time.  Have a nice evening whats left of it.

A note about the Doll News Magazine.  With the 2 new Editors this magazine has become a collectors item, it is informative, full of pictures, well layed out and just plain wonderful.

This artist does such lovely work, but then she was taught by Helen Page.  They lived near each other.  Lucky, lucky Judith.  She does not draw anymore , guess life got in the way and did not leave much time for drawing.

An adorable little girl, lovely bears and dolls along with lots of toys, and beautiful outfits to dress her in.  Now what more could you ask for in a paper doll? Notice the little bassinet for the doll to sleep in.  There are so many little items so take your time and really look.

I just found the title of this on the back side of the card, it is “Cats ‘N the Box”

Again I know it is not Christmas, but some of my cards can be enjoyed all year round and this is one of them if you like cats, and I do.

Now are’t these the sweetest little faces no matter what day it is?  This card was published by the 5 Seasons & Co. for the  American Humane  and is card #G282-08.  The verse was a Holiday Greeting so will not post that now.

This was done back in 1928.  It is hard to read the writing, at least for me, but it looks like is says “This is for Audrey W. of Milwaukee”.  I think the doll is very cute and for those of you who like to color this will be a fun one to do so

Wonder if the readers could write in and request a doll be done for them.?  Makes it very personal and fun.

SNOWMAN STICKER GREETING CARD

Even though this is a Christmas card, the paper toy part and the card would fit in anytime there is snow.  Those up north know all about snow after the winter they just went through.

I think this is a clever idea and I received two of these cards one from Mary and one from Louise.  Means one to play with and one to keep in tack.  Only realized I had these last night while cleaning.  I am beginning to be happy about wanting to paint as I am finding all kinds of goodies I did not know or had forgotten I had.

This is the inside of the card – this is a pretty scene and I smiled at the little bird and bunny on the bottom of the page.  Little things make me feel good.

The picture on the left is the front of the card, the one on the right is of the sheet of stickers that come with the card so you can decorate the snowman.  This is a Miles Kimbell card.  I get there catalog all the time but I sure missed seeing this cute card.

As I have mentioned before I am going through piles of things I have saved.  When I came across this paper doll I knew I had to share it with you.

The outfits are lovely, the art work superb

I am not sure what the great appeal of this picture is for me, it is only flowers and a wall.  Guess when I really look at it, the layout is nicely done, the flowers are all colorful and pleasant to look at.  I like the fact there is no gate, just an opening inviting people in.  This was the March 17th page for the year 2004.

This was a gift in one of the round robins I belong to.  Since I am partial to Larry’s work thought I would share it with you.

Please note on the Paper Dolls for Sale page – Larry has a paper doll of the month club.  I really enjoy the beautiful colored paper dolls and a lovely poem that comes once a month for a six month period and then we renew.
